Frequently Asked

How old do I have to be to rent a Jet Ski / Boat?

You must be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license.

Is alcohol allowed on your watercraft?

We advise ALL guests to not consume any alcohol while boating. On most Colorado lakes alcohol is allowed on the boat (check your local laws), as long as the driver is sober and does not have alcohol within his/her reach. Plain and simple, the driver cannot be under the influence or consume ANY alcohol, but legal-age guests are permitted. We do not allow kegs on our boats, and try to refrain from glass, as it creates many problems on the dock should it break. We ask for an identified, designated driver with each rental if alcohol is involved or consumed by passengers.  If any driver is seen drinking an alcoholic beverage during operation of our watercraft, we will terminate the rental immediately, and all costs, including deposit, will be forfeited. Choose a responsible, non-consuming designated driver, or your day is over WITHOUT refund. Take note, we do not mess around with this.

Do you offer insurance on your watercraft?

Watercraft rental insurance is non-existent in the industry, the liability is the sole responsibility of the renter. Safe watercraft usage is always important!

What payment methods can be used for my security/damage deposit?

ELEVATION accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. NO CASH OR CHECK

Can we pull a tube?

Yes, all of our boats can pull a tube. You do need a minimum of three people… a flagger 12 years or older, a driver and obviously a tuber.

Towing with jet skis is prohibited.

Is fuel included?

Just as a rental car, fuel is NOT included (in any of our rentals). The watercraft leaves full, and must return full.

How do I drive a boat?

We give operational procedures and lake rules to ensure you know how to operate a boat. Or you can hire a driver and sit back and relax. First time jet-skiers and management-determined novices must demonstrate to us they can operate in a safe manner.

Hours?

We are open 7 days a week by appointment only
(April through September). Boats are available for rent from 10:00am – 6:00pm, Full day rentals must be returned by 6:00pm

Boat person capacity and use?

Boat capacity, as stated on our website must be strictly adhered to. These are U.S. Coast Guard standards and cannot be deviated. All persons count toward capacity, regardless of size. Even with proper capacity, we reserve the right to terminate a rental if we feel the boat is overloaded and unsafe. Please distribute weight of supplies and passengers so the boat appears slightly stern-heavy (rear) during idle operation. This will allow the boat at speed to plane properly (ride level and safe). All passengers must ride within the freeboard of the boat when in motion. Please use the boat as described. Do not deviate from stated use, or deposit and/or costs may be accrued.

If the watercraft becomes damaged while in my possession, am I responsible?

Mechanical malfunctions are not the responsibility of the renter unless caused by renter. External damage to equipment, or improper use of watercraft becomes the full responsibility of the renter, even if the renter is not the operator of the watercraft at the time the damage occurs.
